Sentosa Again

Felt like going sentosa again today. so we went down with sherlene and shermain. the two sisters decided to do abit of rowing, rather funny to watch. it was packed since it was a public holiday. had to meet grace at 7pm so we tried to leave at 6pm. but we got lost and didn't know the way out, so we ended up walking from sentosa back to the main land. went to little india, mustafa (24 hour department store) really facinating. grace bought stationary, i really don't understand her passion for stationary. i mean i used to love it too, but i donno, it doesn't appeal to me anymore.... OMG woman your 20 and still obsessed with colourful pens!

Ministry Of Sound

I love it. MOS. very nice. we went to queens first, $10 free flow till 2am. vodka, burbon, gin... some other stuff. so we stayed thier till midnight we were all alittle tipsy then went down to MOS. Theres an escelator there! hahahahahahah but its not on. upstairs there are some rooms with diff music. there was a disco room and a white room full of tourists ( who were hoping to pick up some local girl i'm sure, that room is really nice but really dodgy,we ran out of there quick smart). the music in the main area was ok, until they started playing one song for an extrodinarily long time. yes. but it was good! photos to come....

Asian Civilization Museum

yes today for the unit international law and asia, we went to the asian civilization museum. the taxi driver didn't actually know which museum it was so he drove us to the singapore museum, tut tut tut, so we told he it wasn't that one. andthen he was going to drive us to all the other museums he knew till we got to the right one. luckily, he got it right the second time. its really quite nice there. the tour guide had a very soothing voice. made me want to sleep and she told us alot of stories which were interesting.

Santosa

Went to Sentosa today, we took the cable cart over, that was pretty cool, then we went swiming. the water was really salty, so its very easy to float. we same over to an island which was 100 - 200m away ( what an adventure, there was nothing on the island)then we went down to "the most southern point in the asia continent". then there was a party, with mostly international students. it was pretty fun...

Night Safari

Emmaline came to drop by singapore. unfortunatly she has dislocated her kneecap and was walking around with crutches (which the hospital made her buy). its hard to get around singapore with crutches. anyway we did abit of shopping went to NUS, she sat in one of my classes and participated abit (the lecturer was really happy hahahhahaha) and then we went night safari.

Night safari is ok, slightly over priced. saw lots of deer, a lion, deer, a pelican, deer, a pig, deer, 3 elephants, deer, 3 rhino's a tapir and more deer. the lowest point was when she said "to your left is a pond of water, some creatures drink it, some live in it and all contain it, water is essential to the survival of the ecosystem......" the we watch the fire show, that was pretty good.

Dble 0

So last year, sherlene, tracy and I tried to get into this night club, but we were 19 and they cheaked our ID and wouldn't let us in! FINE THEN BE THAT WAY. so I went down there again this year with some international students and found out that the age limit in the place around the corner is 20 (and its owned by the same club- but its a pool whole, with a seperate dancing area and music etc. anyway. after an hour or so, we went down and tried to get into dble O using the stamp from the first place, and it worked! and i didnt' need to show my ID, i've found a way around the 21 rule ! yay. it was pretty good.

the stamps for the clubs here are in ultraviolet ink, so u can't see the mark on ur arm until u shine a blue light on it. its cool.

I miss my Perth friends!!!!!

Currently sitting in the middle of the busines school in NUS. so boring. 4 hour break, i miss going to the lib to distract people. had 2 classes this morning. none of the lecturers introduced themselves do i don't know thier names and i need to email one of them coz i can't get onto the unit website... grrrrrrr.... bored bored bored bored and its raining makes it hard to go anywhere. there are power plugs under the chairs in the seminar rooms. so hard to make friends huh? everyone already knows everyone, and all the singaporeans have thier groups of friends already. how did i make so many international friends in perth? qand everyone here thinks i'm local, until they hear me speak, and even then they insist that i look chinese, which i'm so not! i have class until 9pm tonight! how shocking is that. but to make up for it, i don't have class tommorow.

Orientation

So troublesome, i have to get the timing of getting to uni right. have to walk to the LRT, take the LRT to the Choa Chu Kang MRT, take the red MRT to jurong east, take the Green MRT to Clementi, take bus 96 to NUS. see how hard this is! anyway i was running late, so decided to take a taxi, but then couldn't find a taxi for 20min, so ended up late anyway. there are over 200+ ppl at NUS on exchange. alot from america, like 5-10ppl from australia. met some ppl from holland, alot from canada and alot from newzealand. honest will post pictures soon!

then we went to eat lunch with some of my new friends. it was quite fun because we'd all start on a topic and then compare the topic in each of our respective countries. so there was alot to say. then after that went walking up and down the stairs mulitple times because we kept going to the wrong place so it was up down up down up down up down... good thing it was't so hot.

Under the Bridge

There is a bridge near my place, well its not really a bridge but a freeway pass. Anyway, while going to the train station to go hunt for food (coz there was none in the house)i saw dingos under the bridge! it was scary, a whole pack of them, what if they suddenly decided i would make a great dinner and eat me? then while walking back from the train station, i saw a man sitting under the bridge wearing only shorts in the mud. also very scary. there are dodgy things under the bridge...

Cinderella is overrated...

today went to immigration to do my student visa, took 30 min to wait in line and take a foto, then went to the student visa section, took one look at the queue and decided to do it another day. then went to see narnia. it was a good movie, i enjoyed it. then went clubbing at zout. pretty nice place, i went with vic and her friends so we got into the members section, saw some people i already me before. had a lychee martini that was good and then a flaming lamborgeni? apparently those are illegal in perth coz they are too potent. i was pretty tipsy after that, i couldn't stop swaying and laughing for no real reason.... yes and on the dance floor they kept spraying cold air onto the people every now and then... that was kinda strange. the club was full but i was told its usually more crowded, apparently everyone was going to the ministry of sound. perhaps i should try that one some other time.

registration

went to nus to register. it was pretty fast. then went down to pay some amenities fees the office is so pretty, will post photos when download them. went to the book store at NUS to look for books for my units, talked to a girl there who asked me what units i was doing and pretty much told me i had no books to buy, which was good and the exams are open book! so relieved!!!!! then went and bought some random stuff. want to go see narnia, but no one to watch it with *sigh* hopefully i will make some friends at uni. saw some people trying to ask for donations, and do surveys and sell stuff, felt sorry for them so talked to them. that and i was bored.....

Happy New Year!!!!

New Years eve, went shopping, then went to lionels gathering. there was an abudnance of cheese cake. and lionel made pizza and brushetta very delicious. and then was supposed to go out to the night clubs but had no one to go with, so after we did the whole happy new year thing, went to eat some porridge with all this stuff, i have no idea what it was, but it was really interesting. i really should get the camera, i keep forgetting! and it was hard to find a taxi home. taxi's are so cheap in singapore like i went from one end of the country to the other end on a public holiday and it still only cost me $22.

OMG did u know the tap water here in singapore is NEW water?!?!?!?!??!?!?! i was so shocked when i found out, for those who don't know new water is sewerage water that has been filtered and treated. well actually the water here is a mix of new water and regular water. i don't know what to do. like could not drink it, but i'd still have to brush my teeth and shower in it.... it looks like normal water? it would be kinda expensive to shower in mineral water right?
